Hickenlooper is paying his own way. The Governor said he is trying to keep things economical, including face value Super Bowl tickets and a $139 room at a Doubletree Hotel in Manhattan.

He is bringing his son Teddy along, and the Governor said the boy is so excited "he can barely speak!" The Governor said he's expecting this to be a father/son trip of a lifetime. He also talked about the impact the Broncos Super Bowl run is having on the entire Rocky Mountain region.

"What I'm most excited about how great the Broncos have been and to see that whole team," Hickenlooper said. "It's not just Peyton Manning and John Fox, who are incredible leaders; Terrance Knighton, Zane Beadles, the entire team. They've gone through such adversity. They've come back, they've fought their way back, just like Colorado did with the floods and the fires."

The Governor said that kind of resilience is rare to see. "I'm just so proud and so excited to get outside there and scream myself hoarse, trying to make sure they win," he said.

The Governor explained he's all set to deck himself out in Broncos orange and blue for Sunday's game, including a Broncos scarf and jersey with his trademark "10" on the back. The only thing he's lacking is a Broncos parka, but he says he's working on getting that too.
