DENVER - Triple threat is the best way to describe Tucker Worley who is an actor, dancer and singer. At 21 years old, he is full of energy and shows it as 'Pepper' in the national tour of Mamma Mia now showing at the Buell Theatre through Sunday, Feb. 3.
"It's awesome to be back in my home town and have family here," Worley said.
Worley is a graduate of the Denver School of the Arts, and this is not his first taste of a national tour. At the age of 12, he toured as the lead in Oliver.
His parents, who are also performers who met while acting with the now-closed Country Dinner Playhouse, say they tried to balance his dream with reality.
"We tried really hard," his mother Alann said. "We gave him all of the opportunities to be whatever he wanted to be, but he kept gravitating toward theatre, and it's hard to say 'Don't do theatre,' when we were doing theatre."
Tucker holds a B.F.A. in acting from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, and his other credits include Comedy of Errors and Julius Caesar (Chicago Shakespeare Theater).
He has a special message for kids who want to pursue their dreams as well: "Follow your passions! Live your dreams! If someone says no, don't take that for an answer."
Mamma Mia The Musical is showing at the Buell Theatre through Sunday. Tickets are available online: http://www.denvercenter.org/intro.aspx.
