NEW YORK - On the day before Super Bowl XLVIII thousands of fans converged on Times Square, renamed Super Bowl Boulevard for now.
There was a sea of fans dressed in Broncos and Seahawks colors and gear.
In the crowd there were cheers from fans of both teams. There were calls of "Hey 9News, Go Broncos," as the 9NEWS crew maneuvered through the busy street.
NYPD officers managed the foot traffic as people tried to get close to NFL events.
The Super Bowl gear store, just off Times Square, and the one inside the large Macy's store were filled to capacity as fans loaded up on T-shirts, jackets, beer glasses and scarves.
On this night before the big game, the excitement on the streets of New York and New Jersey had reached the high point of the week.
