KUSA - Wings will be a staple of Super Bowl parties across the country Sunday, with people eating them by the billions.
Chicken wings will be consumed in living rooms and restaurants across the country.
Amanda Faison, food editor of 5280 Magazine, stopped by the 9NEWS studio with a twist on the classic.
Chef Mark Dym's Famous Limoncello Chicken Wings recipe:
Serves 5 to 6 (depending on how hungry you are)
3 whole lemons, quartered
1/2 cup limoncello
1/4 ounce fresh thyme (about ½ T.)
3 ounces fresh rosemary (about 6 T)
1/4 ounce fresh oregano (about ½ T.)
2 tablespoons kosher salt
Pinch of crushed red pepper
1 ½ cups extra virgin olive oil
5 pounds chicken wings
Blend the quartered lemons, limoncello and rest of marinade ingredients in food processor. Fully coat the chicken wings and marinate in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Remove from marinade, and bake or grill wings at 450 degrees until browned and cooked through, 20 to 30 minutes. Actual coal-fired oven: optional!
