KUSA - Temperatures reached into the 20s and 30s in the foothills Thursday afternoon, paving the way for a milder weekend here on the plains.
A classic temperature inversion over the Front Range and eastern plains sat on the Front Range Thursday. This is a situation where milder air is over the mountains and foothills, while colder, heavier air is on the plains.
Winds from the west on Friday will kick temperatures up into the 40s for the Denver area, but Northern Colorado will lag a bit, staying in the lower to middle 30s.
While moderate snow will continue in the mountains along and west of the Continental Divide through the weekend, light snow is possible around Denver Monday.
Light snow may fall from Fort Collins to the north at times Friday through Monday, with only a couple of inches total accumulation expected.
