COLORADO SPRINGS - Downtown Colorado Springs will host a viewing party for the Olympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony.

A 17-foot wide LCD television will be setup on Tejon street just south of Platte avenue for people to watch the ceremony from Sochi.

The event runs from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. There will also be snowmobile jumping shows on Tejon street.

The Short & Sweet Downtown Dash family fun glow will take place at 6:00 pm. People taking part in the one mile run are being encouraged to wear items that glow, blink and flash.

There will be live music from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Everyone going is encouraged to dress in red, white and blue.
