GOLDEN - Shortly after three new board members were elected to the Jefferson County School Board, Dr. Cindy Stevenson announced her plans to leave the district in July.
But, at the end of the school board meeting Thursday night, Board President Ken Witt announced the school board will enter into executive session to discuss Stevenson at 8 a.m. on Saturday. The board had already planned a special session to discuss the budget for next year.
She has been superintendent of Jeffco Schools since 2002. Stevenson has spent a total of 34 years in the school district as a teacher and administrator.
Earlier this week, she announced plans to take a job with the Colorado Association of School Executives after she leaves the district in July.
At the executive session, the school board may examine the possibility of having Stevenson leave the district sooner than that.
