KUSA- Valentine's Day is coming up and if you are looking for a homemade sweet treat look no further.
Dorian O'Connell stopped by 9NEWS station Saturday to show us how to make truffle stuffed chocolate covered strawberries.
Truffle stuffed Chocolate Covered Strawberries by Dorian O'Connell:
Yield: 15 Strawberries
10 ounces 64% bittersweet dark chocolate
1 cup heavy cream
2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
1/2 Tbsp. vanilla extract or paste
To make the truffle filling:
1.Put the chocolate in a medium size bowl and set aside. Combine the heavy cream and vanilla into a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until mixture come to a boil.
2.Pour the cream mixture over top of the chocolate and let sit for 2 minutes then stir slowly incorporating all the ingredients.
3.Add the butter and mix until combined. Set aside overnight ,if possible, if not place in refrigerator for 20 minutes to firm up.
Prepare the strawberries:
1.Wipe the strawberries dry and using a knife hollow out the center.
2.Fill the cavity with the truffle filling
3.Dip into coating chocolate or tempered chocolate.
4.Decorate with sprinkles or dress the strawberries with tuxedos.
The truffle filled strawberries will keep for 2 days in the fridge.
