KUSA- Love was in the air and on the ground at Denver International Airport Thursday night.
James Monsey, of Aurora, set up an elaborate surprise marriage proposal for his girlfriend of four years, Liz Robertson.
She lives in Washington, but flew in Thursday evening to begin looking for jobs. She hopes to move to the Denver area.
Before her arrival, Monsey worked with Southwest Airlines employees and other travelers to surprise her. They set up balloons, arranged flowers and then waited.
As soon as she entered the airport at gate A50, Monsey called her name surprised her with the proposal.
"Since the day I met you, you've pretty much been a reflection of God's goodness in my life, " he said. "You've been with me through thick and thin and now that things are getting better I'd like to make this official, will you be my wife?"
She said yes, and was met with cheers from other travelers at the gate. There was even a group of cheerleaders nearby who immediately began chanting, "she said yes!"
