SAN DIEGO - Monday night, a semi-truck carrying 2,600 live chickens crashed in San Diego County, Calif. - sending chickens running around.

According to California Highway Patrol, the driver told police officers he saw a deer and swerved, flipping his truck and trapping him inside.

Two witnesses immediately rushed to the rescue of the driver who suffered minor injuries.

The wreck did start a small grass fire, but the fire was quickly extinguished. Some of the chickens did die in the fire, and animal control had to be called to catch the 20 or so chickens that escaped.
