DENVER - Ukranians living in Denver say they feel helpless this far from home.
A few dozen showed up a Ukrainian Catholic Church Thursday night to pray.
Since Tuesday, George Makolondra and the rest of the world have watched the blood shed in Kiev unfold.
"We've seen nearly 100 people killed," Makolondra said, "many of whom were protesters speaking out against the current regime, and its allegiance to Russia."
Many of their relatives, who are here in Denver, say the only thing they can do now is ask God to intervene.
The European Union voted Thursday to impose sanctions on Ukranian leaders. The U.S. has also levied sanctions.
