KUSA - When you talk about a wild ride, I feel as if I've been on one in the last seven years.
Since leaving 9NEWS in April 2007, I lived in Chicago, both Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York and then returned to Denver in 2011.
As if that wasn't enough change, I became a mom in 2010 and had a baby last year. Our household now stands at four plus a Wheaten Terrier, named Jake. (He made his 9NEWS debut on our last go-round as a Jake Plummer look-a-like!)
I am so thrilled to be back and to help people get where they need to be in the mornings!
It was an easy decision, just like coming home to Denver. The morning crew was always like family to me and they still make it easier to get up before dawn.
The opportunity to return as a traffic reporter was perfect for me, as I can go home after the morning drive to my two sweet little faces (well, sometimes the toddler is less than sweet) and be mom for the rest of the day! I also feel it's very important for my children to see that mommies can work hard outside the home and still give them 110 percent. So many of my friends do this and I am always inspired.
I hope to interact more with viewers this time around as social media has added such a new and exciting layer to TV news! They turned me loose on Twitter, so @TauniaHottman for any traffic tips or great pictures you might want to send.
