On Feb. 1, Amtrak was planning on moving to a temporary station at 1800 21st Street behind Coors Field, but decided to delay that for a few days. Once Amtrak does move, it will not move back to Union Station until a major renovation project is complete in 2014.

Amtrak has two daily trains that run through Denver: The westbound California Zephyr departing at 8:05 a.m. and the eastbound California Zephyr departing at 7:10 p.m. The California Zephyr runs between Chicago and Emeryville.

RTD says the remodeling of Union Station will turn it into a transportation hub that will integrate bus, light rail and passenger rail services all from the more than 100-year-old building. It is part of the FasTracks project.
