The ACLU said Monday that the publisher of The Howling Pig, Tom Mink, will get $425,000 under the settlement.
Mink is a former University of Northern Colorado student who was accused of libeling a professor online. In 2004, he sued a former Weld County prosecutor, Susan Knox, who approved a search warrant for his home in the case. Greeley police seized a computer and written materials from the home but a court later ordered them to return the items.
Knox no longer works for the Weld County district attorney's office, which referred all calls to the county attorney, Bruce Barker. He didn't immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
