The students are in a group called GlobeMed, which partners with Buddhism for Social Development Action in Cambodia to assist in the country's social development. If they raise enough money, a few members will travel to Cambodia next summer to teach the people sustainable living practices. They hope the posters will help create awareness about their cause so they can meet their fundraising goals.

"My philosophy is that when presented with an issue - like global health and equality - we have a responsibility to do something about it," Paige Jones, a freshman member of GlobeMed, said.

Jones has established a reputation for her dedication to projects in the community and the world. While at Peak to Peak Charter School in Lafayette, she co-founded a chapter of Invisible Children to raise awareness about human rights violations in central Africa.

"I think I am super passionate about global health and equality and the fact that we can do something about it because people are dying of things that we can prevent," she said.

Jones hopes to be part of the group that travels to Cambodia. If you would like to help with GlobeMed's fundraising, visit
