FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - Army aviators and the Colorado Springs Fire Department are practicing helicopter wildfire-fighting techniques at Fort Carson.
Members of Fort Carson's new 4th Combat Aviation Brigade and the city firefighters will train Thursday on the use of a helicopter-borne bucket that can drop about 2,000 gallons of water onto a fire in a concentrated stream.
The exercise will be conducted near Butts Army Airfield on Fort Carson, south of Colorado Springs.
