BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Following the Boston Marathon explosions, University of Colorado officials plan additional security measures at the school's commencement ceremony in Boulder next week.
The university said Friday that all attendees' bags will be checked as they enter Folsom Stadium on May 10.
CU police spokesman Ryan Huff tells the Daily Camera all law-enforcement agencies have been reviewing how they handle event security after what happened in Boston. He says the bag checks are something the public will notice is different at the commencement ceremony this year, but other additional security measures won't be obvious. He didn't disclose the measures.
The commencement ceremony is open to the public. It will honor candidates for more than 6,000 degrees.
Academy Award-winning actress Julie Andrews is scheduled to deliver the commencement address.
