I'm absolutely thrilled to join the 9NEWS Team as a morning meteorologist! I'm ready to predict Colorado's ever-changing, ever-challenging weather and help you wake up with a smile too!
Before coming to Denver, I forecast, anchored and reported at KREM-TV in Spokane, Wash. I loved doing it all, not knowing where the day would take me.
For three years, I covered everything from devastating wildfires, record snowstorms to even a local 86-year-old granny who set the world record for powerlifting. It all began though at KIFI-TV in Idaho Falls - a tiny town with a huge heart.
Between tracking subzero temperatures and powerful thunderstorms, I found my passion predicting Mother Nature there.
I graduated from Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo earning a degree in Broadcast Journalism. During college, I worked behind the scenes at the local NBC affiliate, KSBY-TV, learning the ins and outs of the business. Later, I put my head back in the books studying meteorology at Mississippi State University. I'm now a certified meteorologist, working toward my NWA Seal.
Although I spent most of my life in sunny San Diego, I can't wait to call Colorado home. As a little girl, I remember spending summers in Pagosa Springs, and I took my first turns on a snowboard at Wolf Creek. When I'm not tracking the skies, I'm outside enjoying them - rain or shine! I love hiking, biking, horseback riding, wakeboarding and even golfing (I can only handle nine holes though). Spending time with family and friends is my most favorite.
I would love to hear from you! If you'd like to say hello or send in a weather photo, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, tweet me @theWXwoman or find me on Facebook, http://on.fb.me/1bt0lhE.
