KUSA - If you're looking to empower girls and to help teach values such as honesty, fairness, courage, compassion, character, sisterhood, confidence, and citizenship through activities including camping, community service, learning first aid, and earning badges by acquiring practical skills - the Girl Scouts of Colorado needs your help!
There are thousands of girls on waiting lists across the state due to a lack of volunteers.
To become an approved volunteer with the Girl Scouts, interested parties need to do the following:
1. Volunteer Application - Available online or in paper form, this is how you tell us a little bit about yourself and your volunteer interests. Learn more here: http://bit.ly/12P2lQD.
2. Background Check - For the safety of our girls, a background check is run. The fee is $12, and financial assistance is available. You'll need this code: 16305-56161-128764-5DC9 to enter the background check portal.
(Note: copying and pasting the access code in Internet Explorer does not work; you will either need to type the code directly into the background check portal or use a different internet browser such as Chrome, Firefox or Safari).
3. Membership Registration - We welcome every volunteer to be a member of Girl Scouts! There is an annual fee of $15, due every year on or before Oct. 1. Volunteer approval will not be given until we receive a paid membership registration. Thank you for your support!
