KUSA - Sunday's win over Jacksonville wasn't even an hour old and Peyton Manning was getting questions about the Denver Broncos' next game: at Indianapolis.
Manning will play against the team that selected him with the No. 1 pick in the 1998 draft then dropped him in 2012. He spent 14 seasons with the Colts, winning Super Bowl XLI after the 2006 season, and was named the league's MVP four times.
Sunday after the third postgame question about his return to Indianapolis, Manning got even more short and said he would address it later during his weekly news conference.
"I'll probably cover that on Wednesday. Do I have to talk Wednesday still? OK, I'll do all that Wednesday," Manning said. "I'm going to enjoy this victory, and we'll be ready to play come the rest of the week."
Denver plays at Indianapolis on Sunday night football, which will air on 9NEWS. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
Manning signed a five-year, $90 million deal with the Colts in July 2011, but after his second offseason neck surgery in September, he did not play the 2011 season. The Colts then released Manning in March 2012, and Denver signed him two weeks later.
Manning, who speaks with the media every Wednesday after practice, was more focused Sunday on the mistakes the Broncos made in the 35-19 win over Jacksonville than looking that far ahead.
He's also concerned about who might be his starting right tackle. Orlando Franklin injured his left knee on Knowshon Moreno's second touchdown run.
"We have some things we have to correct, and see where we are physically - see who our right tackle is," Manning said. "I thought (offensive coordinator) Adam (Gase) did a good job calling plays with (guard Louis) Vasquez; I'm not sure he's ever played right tackle before. It kind of changes the way I think about audibles and things like that when you've got a new right tackle."
Manning said he probably starting thinking about the Colts on "Tuesday, I guess? Kind of like I do any other opponent."
