From St. Charles, Missouri, Byron Reed says he never dreamed of working in television news.

Seventeen years later, he's working here at KUSA-TV as a photojournalist.

They saw his raw talent, charisma, and ambition instantly. Two weeks after finals, Byron Reed was on his way.

His first day on the job was the first day of the Persian Gulf War. He hasn't slowed down since.

He started at WRCB in Chattanooga Tennessee in 1993 and eight months later he moved up to KMBC in Kansas City.

He joined the photojournalists at KUSA in Denver in 1999.

He was named the 2002 Colorado Association of Black Journalists Photographer of the Year.
