"They call me the 'Donut Fairy', the 'Donut Diva', or even the 'Sugar Plum Fairy,'" Jasmine Listou said.
They are very fitting titles for the very imaginative young woman who has turned her passion for sweets into a delectable donut shop.
"They're just cute and fun," Listou said. "You could eat about a dozen yourself of the cinnamon sugar!"
At Sugar Lips Mini Donut shop at the base of Copper Mountain Ski Resort you will find a wide assortment of bite-sized treats to sink your teeth into.
"We have smores, we have vanilla with sprinkles," Listou said. "You can buy them by the dozen or half dozen."
Listou came up with her business idea a few years ago when a friend in California sent her a mini-donut machine.
"The machine is about 10 years old," Listou said.
After watching the machine in motion Jasmine was hooked.
"My boyfriend and I started it here in Denver at the Highlands Farmers Market," Listou said. "We did that for a couple of summers and it was so successful and so fun."
That is when the young couple decided to upgrade their donut endeavor from a tent to a vintage trailer to a brand new store in the heart of Copper Mountain Ski Resort.
"When we opened in January we had about 30 kids lined up outside banging on the door to get in," Listou said. "It was a kid riot. It was awesome!"
