Video: Suspect arrested in fatal C-470 hit-and-run

  • LONE TREE - 20-year-old Erin Finn is being held in the Douglas County Jail on charges of vehicular homicide in connection with a deadly hit and run crash that closed a section of C-470 for more than 6 hours.

Finn was arrested Thursday after Lone Tree detectives served a search warrant at her Lakewood home in the 1000 block of Ingalls Street.

Investigators say Finn was driving a white sedan when she skipped over the westbound lane of C-470 and slammed into a white SUV driving in the eastbound lane.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 51-year-old Dennis Dolce of Littleton.

Dolce, a father of three, graduated from Denver's North High School in 1979 and worked for Dish Network, according to his Facebook page.

"This is obviously a great loss for everyone that knew Dennis, especially his children and his family," Dellene Dolce, Dennis' ex-wife, told 9NEWS Thursday evening.

Dellene Dolce and her children say, "Dennis was an amazing father. He was a man that enjoyed life and he enjoyed love. His family adored him and he will be greatly missed."

Police say Finn ran from the scene before they arrived.

"When they got out on scene, there was only the one occupant of the vehicle, pronounced dead at the scene. There was no driver, or passengers in the other vehicle whatsoever," Sergeant Ryan Gallegos with the Lone Tree Police Department said.

About an hour after the crash, police discovered the vehicle was reported stolen from the suspect's home.

"Immediately, we had to put the information out, and we were notified that the vehicle was reported stolen. We started canvassing the area to see if we could locate the driver," Gallegos said.

The vehicle was reported stolen from the 1000 block of Ingle Street in Lakewood.

Thousands of motorists were affected by the closure.
