LONGMONT - A 5-month-old black lab puppy named Cheyenne was returned to her owners Sunday after the truck she was stolen in was located, without her in it on Saturday.

Cheyenne was inside Marcie Cullen's 1997 Blue Chevy pickup truck when it was stolen from outside her husband's Longmont maintenance shop Thursday night.

The truck was located in Fort Collins on Saturday, but without the dog. Fort Collins police arrested 42-year-old Mark Cittadino for aggravated motor vehicle theft, theft, and criminal mischief. He also had a "no bond" warrant out of Larimer County and a warrant out of Fort Collins for theft.

On Saturday, Westminster police say a good samaritan was approached by a man with a puppy while pumping gas at a station near Colfax and Kalamath in Denver.  The man told the good samaritan he could not care for his puppy and asked him to take him. The good samaritan told the man he could not leave his dog, however he insisted.

The good samaritan took the puppy back to his home in Westminster, where he contacted Westminster Animal Management.  The agency responded to his home and checked the puppy for a micro-chip. It was discovered the puppy was the small black Labrador that was in the truck which had been stolen in Longmont a few days prior.

Animal Management contacted the Cullen's who picked up their puppy at the police station Sunday afternoon.
