Following an investigation, it turns out the baby belonged to the teen who claimed she found it.

Alternatives Pregnancy Center representative Marcy McGovern talked further about what moms can do if they want to give up their baby.

"Both hospitals and fire stations. A parent can bring an infant within 72 hours and hand him over to an employee there. There will be no prosecutions as long as the baby is unharmed. So it provides a safe place for a desperate woman," McGovern said.

She also talked about how common it is for mothers to ditch their babies.

"You know we hear about it sometimes. I think we hear about the negative cases. Since we tell the woman that it's fully confidential, we hope we don't hear about it and hope she is safe and anonymous and the baby is safe," McGovern said.

McGovern also talked about who Moms can contact if they feel pressured into ditching their baby.

"The number that I'm most familiar with is the 'Alternatives Pregnancies Center' and that's who I'm with and our 24 hour help line is 303-295-2288. And she'll get a live person there and we'll get her connected to the right place, but she can just go to any fire station or any hospital," McGovern said.
