Verisma created the program Record Jacket that streamlines the process of transferring medial files, while safeguarding the privacy of the data it contains.
Record Jacket allows hospitals, clinics and even doctors' offices to share information about patients with people who need it like lawyers, insurance companies and government agencies like Social Security and the Disability Determination Service. The program even tracks what information is released to who and when, ensuring that Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules are followed.
The company started in 2002 but has doubled in size and now employing 120 people nationwide, including 32 at its headquarters in Pueblo.
Verisma revenue growth has also been amazing. It grew 100 percent in 2007 and then 400 percent in 2008. This year, revenue is expected to be more modest with growth between 60 and 70 percent, a number that many companies would envy right now.
Verisma was one of the 50 businesses selected by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade as a Colorado Company to Watch. Every Friday 9NEWS is reporting about another company, highlighting its success in this difficult economy. CLICK HERE to see those stories.
