Located in Denver, Boardlife has only been open two weeks, but owners John Klutznick and Michael Pisarcik aren't worried.
"[Longboarding] is very popular and getting more popular all the time," Pisarcik said. "We have guys [longboarding] outside the shop all the time, and there are races all over the state."
BoardLife is one of only a few stores nationwide that specializes in longboards.
"[A longboard] looks like a skateboard, except it's longer, it's got a wider track, softer wheels and it's easier to ride on the road," Klutznick said.
BoardLife is unique because customers can customize and create their own boards starting at $109.
Klutznick and Pisarcik want their shop to be family friendly and welcoming to anyone, if they are new to longboarding or an expert.
Governor John Hickenlooper will be at BoardLife's grand opening, which is Nov. 12.
Klutznick and Pisarcik had a special board made for the governor.
