KUSA - Continuing her comeback from a February surgery and a crash during training in November, American skier Lindsey Vonn said Thursday she will race this weekend in Canada.
Vonn tweeted: Thankful and happy to announce I will be starting in the World Cup downhill race tomorrow!!! #readytorace #iwill #tbt #sochi2014
The women's circuit is in Lake Louise, Canada. She was training on the course Wednesday for the first time since a crash Nov. 19 at Copper Mountain when she re-injured her right knee. She did not take any runs Thursday.
"Just had to see how the training run went and see how my knee held up and it didn't swell or hurt," she told USA TODAY Sports and the Associated Press on Thursday. "It was very stable after the training run so I'm confident and excited for tomorrow."
There are downhill races Friday and Saturday, and the super-G is Sunday. Vonn has won 14 events at Lake Louise.
Vonn had surgery on the knee in February after a major crash at the world championships.
