Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Ryan Nicholas knocked down all five of his 3- point attempts to tally 21 points and lift the Portland Pilots to a 69-60 win over the Loyola Marymount Lions in a West Coast Conference matchup at the Chiles Center.

Tanner Riley connected on 4-of-5 from beyond the arc for Portland (9-16, 2-8 WCC) to generate 17 points in 24 minutes off the bench while Thomas van der Mars went 6-of-8 from the field en route to 14 points. Van der Mars also pulled down seven rebounds to help the Pilots snap a six-game losing streak.

Anthony Ireland poured in 21 points and dished out five assists to pace Loyola Marymount (8-15, 1-9) in the setback. Ayodeji Egbeyemi and Godwin Okonji scored 10 points apiece as the Lions were defeated for the seventh time in a row.

Loyola Marymount hit 45.8 percent of its field goal tries and converted 6-of-7 at the charity stripe to take a 31-28 lead into the intermission. The Pilots trailed at halftime despite a 10-of-19 showing from the field in the first half.

The visitors extended their advantage to seven points less than four minutes into the second stanza, but the Pilots refused to let the game slip away and begin to mount their comeback. Portland took the lead for good with 7:19 remaining on a dunk by Bryce Pressley. Although the Lions improved to connect on 47.8 percent of their field goal attempts in the second half, they watched their lead slip away as they went 5-of-10 at the free-throw line. Portland drained 6-of-9 from beyond the arc in the final 20 minutes to power its comeback.

The Pilots assisted 19 of their 23 makes from the field in the contest while Loyola Marymount managed only 10 assists to 13 turnovers.

With the win, Portland completed the season series sweep of Loyola Marymount.
