Manning completed 123-of-174 passes (70.7%) for 1,399 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions (108.4 rtg.) in the month of December while leading Denver to a 5-0 record and the top seed in the AFC. He became just the third quarterback in NFL history (Kurt Warner, 2001/Drew Brees, 2011) to lead his team to a perfect record in the final month of the season while passing for 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns in addition to completing 70 percent of his passes.

In December, he led all AFC passers in completion percentage (70.7 percen - 7 percent higher than the next closest passer), yards per attempt (8.0), touchdowns (11), first-down percentage (42.0 percent) and passer rating 108.4 (18.1 points higher than the next closest player).

The honor represents the second of the year for Manning and the sixth such distinction of his career, tying him for the most conference Player of the Month accolades in NFL history since the award's inception in 1986.
