DENVER - The eyes of Denver Broncos fans will turn to the sea lion tank at the Denver Zoo next week, as Gidget the prognosticating sea lion attempts to snap a dubious streak.
Each week, Gidget picks the winner of the Broncos football game by retrieving one of two footballs. 9NEWS Sports Anchor Drew Soicher tosses a football with the Broncos logo and one with their opponent into the sea lion tank.
After a tumultuous offseason that included the firing of longtime head coach Mike Shanahan, the hiring of rookie head coach Josh McDaniels and the subsequent trade of Pro Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler, it appears Gidget was not drinking the orange Kool-Aid.
In fact, Gidget has picked against the Broncos in all six of their games this season. After the Broncos beat the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football, Gidget's prediction record dropped to an astounding 0-6.
Gidget will get a rest this week as the Broncos have a bye. She'll pick the winner of the Broncos/Ravens game on 9NEWS at 10 p.m. on Oct. 30.
