KUSA - Oscar Pareja has left the Colorado Rapids to become the head coach at FC Dallas, the Rapids announced Friday.

Pajera has been the Rapids' head coach for the past two seasons and complied a 25-30-13 record. The Rapids will get a first-round pick in the 2015 draft, money and a contract buyout from FC Dallas as compensation.

Pajera spent the last eight seasons of his playing career with FC Dallas and then was an assistant before taking the Rapids' job.

"The compensation we've received for Dallas will help us this season and beyond, and we are eager to find the right candidate to take our head coaching position," Rapids president Tim Hinchey said in a news release. "With a youthful squad that is primed to succeed for several years down the line, this is an attractive coaching job with a solid structure already in place."
